EGEB

Created in 2012, EGEB (Les Etats Généreaux de l’Eau à Bruxelles) is a citizen-based association dedicated to the prevention of urban floods and the transition towards an integrated water governance for and by citizens and city-authorities. EGEB raises awareness about the political dimension of water. Relying on a network of communities, citizens, researchers, practitioners and activists, EGEB collaborates with public administrations and other stakeholders at district and regional level to provide animation work in urban watersheds (exhibitions, round-tables, workshops, local citizen-research groups, etc.) as well as coordination support and advocacy work on the problematic of urban water. EGEB has significant experience in the coordination of- and participation in regional and international co-creation research projects. Nowadays, the expertise and transformative impact of EGEB on water governance and the production of a flood-resilient city is well recognized by stakeholders in Brussels.
